Troj.Carberp.A is a Trojan horse that has a high severity in damage potential. It has been identified that users could be infected with it by just visiting an infected website or by surfing on known malicious sites. This Trojan is designed to steal and intercept confidential information while sending and receiving data on Secure Socket Layer (SSL) connection. Websites on SSL connection are identifiable by it’s URL that starts with “HTTPS://” examples of websites that requires SSL are online banking, email servers, databases or intranets logins, online stores, etc…
